PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This Best Western Premier project is located in downtown Sacramento’s historic Old Town district. The site occupies an ideal position for a hospitality venture. Visitors can walk from the hotel to the Golden 1 Center, Sacramento’s newly-built athletic and entertainment venue, within five minutes. The downtown area’s new Amtrak station is across the street from the hotel.

The city plans to remove a freeway ramp to turn the surrounding area into a multi-use urban plaza. Adjacent to that, the planned Sacramento Streetcar line will link Sacramento’s downtown business districts, West Sacramento, and the greater transportation network. The existing Vagabond Inn Executive will receive an in-depth renovation to become a Best Western Premier. All the guest rooms will be completely redone, including all-new bathrooms, furniture, and finishes. The parking lot will be reconfigured to allow for a privacy wall along the ground floor rooms which will also create small gardens at each of those guest rooms. The amenities and services for the hotel will be relocated to a new lobby building that will be constructed in the place of the existing porte cochere. Within the new 3 story building, there will be a new lobby, cafe, bar, business center, fitness rooms, and rooftop meeting spaces adjacent to an outdoor deck. The existing pool area will be reimagined to include a barbecue area, reflecting pool, and lounge space.
